Business development unit

ILRI’s resource mobilization efforts are currently being reorganized to respond to:

Changes at the CGIAR level;
ILRI’s strategy 2013-2022 which includes a specific critical success factor on securing sustainable and appropriate funding which will provide the framework, plans and metrics against which resource mobilization will be developed and assessed;
The need to raise the profile of livestock within the CGIAR consortium and beyond;
The need to assess and align internal processes for proposal development, approval and contracting.

The institute has established a new unit – the Business Development Unit which will play a key role in resource mobilization as well as other partner and investor relationships. The head of Business Development, will report to the Assistant Director General (and interact closely with ILRI’s Deputy Directors General for Integrated Science and Biosciences). One of the initial tasks of the incumbent will be to finalise the unit’s staffing structure in relation the critical success factor described in ILRI’s strategy.
